Of course, putting this entire guidance into practice is something that must be learned in itself, but hopefully that is compensated for by the fact that I still do not perfectly implement into my games all that I have learned. I hope that this guide will be able to bring new players up to my level before they even start playing. Despite all that I learned before starting FAF, I have learned much, and I will learn much much much more. At the time of typing this guide, I have played a total of less than 100 player matches. And the best way to get better is definitely playing as many games as possible. I believe that everyone can improve their 'best' indefinitely (in relation to this game). I don't think that anyone can become 'as good as possible'. This is very much counter-intuitive, because more games means more experience, and so getting better. I aim to help people do what I tried to do when joining the FAF community: become as good as possible in as few games as possible. Some guides try to explain what a player must do to best prepare themselves for learning, or explain what to do to learn. Most guides give you data and information. ![]() The aim of this guide is to give you the knowledge that comes from experience. In fact, I have learned so much and typed up such a quantity that I feel it qualifies as a fully fledged guide, even if the structure breaks down a bit when it does return to hints and tips. *This "list of hints and tips" gradually turned into a mini-guide as I have added to it. To help you get the picture, player matches generally involve no moments of either player stalling their eco, something that many new players generally don't even know the meaning of. Please be aware though that completing the campaign on hard means nothing compared to the extremely strong play that you will see (or perhaps have already discovered) in player versus player gameplay. Completing the campaign is enough to prepare you for this guide, assuming that you have done the tutorial before that. You should read this mini-guide (or list of hints and tips)* only after you have had some experience playing Supreme Commander. (I mean actually changed content, not merely reformatting for Steam.) It also features heavier armor and a stabilizer system that allows it to fire when on the move. This guide last edited November 2014. " With it's Tactical Cruise Missiles, the Flapjack has almost twice the range and firepower of the Lobo. The homing capability was removed in Forged Alliance. The Flapjack, like the other T2 missile launchers, are very potent commander killers in large groups if your opponent leaves his ACU on the front lines. Since the Flapjack is able to fire on the move, a solid defensive strategy is to set them on a patrol path around your base perimeter, making them harder targets for enemy bombers and artillery. The missiles themselves home in on their targets, ensuring devastating strikes on inbound targets when used defensively. It is able to strike outside of its viewing range, so radar coverage or the use of spotters is required for best effectiveness. The Flapjack outranges all Tier 2 defense systems, and is a useful addition to any land assault force. The Flapjack is the best MML in the game, due to higher Hit Points, higher overall damage per second, and better accuracy than the Evensong. ![]() The Flapjack is armed with a Long Range Cruise Missile. The UEF T2 Mobile Missile Launcher, nicknamed the Flapjack, is a UEF unit.
